Rome, or the Eternal City, is a treasure trove of rich history dating back to antiquity. To this day, everyone wants to visit this center of a mighty empire, seeing, among others, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum or the Palatine Hill. Unfortunately, this has unpleasant consequences, because there are so many tourists that the city becomes dangerously crowded . Many people have been eagerly waiting for night tours to appear, so that at least it would be possible to see what is most important in greater peace. Now it is possible.
Night Tour in RomeThis is good news for many tourists from abroad, who especially dreamed of visiting Rome, avoiding the crowds, the hottest heat and the queues. Some have long done it on their own, although it must be remembered that it was not easy everywhere then. Now it is easier, because a walk through the historic city is possible as part of special tour offers. Many important places have appeared in the sightseeing plan.
The night tour of Rome will involve a walk among the monuments of antiquity in the Fori Imperiali avenue. This place connects the Colosseum with Piazza Venezia, and on both sides there are many monuments including the Roman Forum. Walking along this path is one of the greatest tourist attractions.
We will see, among others, ancient squares such as the Forum of Caesar, the Forum of Augustus or the Forum of Peace and Trajan. We will also see the Basilica of Maxentius from the 4th century and the market halls of Trajan from the beginning of the 2nd century.
New attraction now availableThe night tour of Rome is available from Friday, June 20, through September 28 , during the peak holiday season. If you're wondering whether it's worth it, remember that this year , Italy is expected to see around 30-35 million tourists and pilgrims. They'll be in the Vatican as well as at other popular attractions, and most will be walking around the city during the day.
What can save you from the crowds is that now every evening on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you can go down to the level of the ancient squares and walk among the famous beautifully illuminated monuments: columns, remains of monumental buildings and temples. The archaeological sites are to be visited in groups of up to 25 people with a guide: in Italian and English. For a walk lasting about an hour we will pay 7 euros and 4 euros if we are residents of Rome.
