Let this flight become an inspiration for young Poles – those who boldly dream of things that seem impossible – wrote the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda on Platform X after the departure of the Pole Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski to the International Space Station.
"A great day for world science. A great day for Poland! We watch with pride and emotion as Mr. Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski sets off for the International Space Station," wrote the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
"This event has not only technological significance, but also a deep symbolic dimension. Let this flight become an inspiration for young Poles – those who boldly dream of things that seem impossible. Today, the Republic of Poland is once again becoming a part of great history," Duda noted.
"Happy mission, Mr. Sławosz! The whole of Poland is looking at the sky with you. Congratulations and we keep our fingers crossed for the success of the entire mission. Fly with God!" - the president concluded his post.
On Wednesday morning, the Ax-4 mission with the participation of a Polish astronaut took off from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket carried the Dragon capsule with a four-person crew into orbit. The capsule is heading towards the International Space Station. (PAP)
