PLN 650 regardless of age or income. 7,600 Poles already receive this support.

According to data presented in a press release from the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS), the KRUS regional branch in Warsaw granted the largest number of such benefits, with over 1,100 children receiving the supplement. Lublin (866) and Poznań (852) were next in line. The Opole region received the fewest such benefits (112).
Iwona Kaszuba, director of the KRUS Benefits Office, was quoted in the press release as saying that the benefit is granted at the request of the interested party , or, for example, a legal guardian or person providing actual care for the orphan. The application must be accompanied by documents confirming the dates of death of the parents or a document confirming the date of death of the mother, and a birth certificate indicating that the child's father is unknown. The supplement may increase the amount of the survivor's pension.
Kaszuba emphasized that the supplement is due regardless of the child's age and income , until the end of the period of receiving the survivor's pension.
"It supplements the survivor's pension and is paid independently, meaning it is not divided among eligible individuals. This means that if two children receive survivor's pension after the death of their parents, each of them will receive the full supplement," she explained.
As of March 1, 2025, the monthly allowance for a complete orphan is PLN 654.48 for each child. KRUS clarified that the allowance is payable at the rate specified in pension regulations and is increased using the pension and disability index index from the month of the indexation—March of each year. The allowance does not include income tax withholdings or health insurance contributions.
Kaszuba added that a person loses the right to the supplement when the right to a survivor's pension expires, which is payable until the age of 25, provided they continue their education.
- If an orphan turns 25 in the last year of studies, the right to a survivor's pension will be extended until the end of that year of studies - Kaszuba explained.
In turn, the survivor's pension - as Kaszuba explained - is payable to children who become completely incapable of working before the age of 16 or while studying at school after the age of 16, until the age of 25.
