The effectiveness of gynecological cancer treatment increases when patients are admitted to hospitals that provide comprehensive care. These hospitals have signed agreements with the National Health Fund (NFZ) for a drug program, meaning they can offer all currently reimbursed therapies, says Anna Kupiecka, president of the OnkoCafe-Razem JegowÄ™ (Together Better) Foundation.
- Creating breast cancer units allows for efficient diagnosis and faster initiation of therapy in breast cancer patients - emphasizes Anna Kupiecka, president of the OnkoCafe-Razemlepszy Foundation
- As he says, it is important to continue the positive trend of supplementing drug programs with all the latest technologies in order to ensure that patients are treated in accordance with the best medical knowledge.
- The Foundation is running a campaign under the slogan Cervical Cancer - Focus on Treatment
- The poor public response to HPV vaccinations indicates that awareness of the threat of cervical cancer is low. Two-thirds of women in this country who develop cervical cancer die.
- It is possible to detect the carrier state of the HPV virus, which allows doctors and patients to monitor the development of the virus in the body and react quickly - emphasizes Anna Kupiecka
- Patients with gynecological cancers, from patient groups or contacting the Foundation directly, still report a certain confusion in the system: whether it is the lack of treatment appropriate for their condition, or incomplete, extended diagnostics - points out Anna Kupiecka, president of the OnkoCafe-Razemlepszy Foundation.
The situation of patients is improved by the creation of gynecological units in cancer hospitals that provide comprehensive treatment.
- Patients should be directed to places where treatment can be provided using all available methods, because this increases its effectiveness - emphasizes the president.
