Andalusian SMEs migrate to the cloud

Andalusia has established itself as the third autonomous community with the highest adoption of cloud computing by Spanish SMEs, with 12.4% of companies having incorporated this technology since 2020. This is according to the "2nd Observatory of Cloud and SMEs in Spain 2025" prepared by Jotelulu , the European cloud platform specializing in the SME segment.
The report analyzes the evolution of more than 5,000 companies in their transition to the cloud and confirms that the contracting of cloud services by small and medium-sized businesses will have doubled by 2024. Andalusia, along with Catalonia, Madrid, and the Valencian Community , accounts for 65% of this digital transformation nationwide.
"Andalusian SMEs are realizing that the cloud isn't just a technological issue, but a key tool for growing, protecting their business, and operating more efficiently," says David Amorín, CEO of Jotelulu . "Digitization is no longer an option, but an essential step to compete."
ServicesAmong the most in-demand services for Andalusian SMEs are infrastructure and security solutions , which led the growth in contracting over the last year, according to the report.
Overall, the uptake of cloud services by SMEs is accelerating. In the last year, the number of SMEs adopting cloud services has grown by more than 110% compared to the previous year. While this adoption is uneven geographically, in terms of sectors, growth in 2024 suggests a trend toward diversification.
The vision of the IT companyJotelulu's analysis also includes the results of a survey of 350 CEOs and CTOs from IT and communications companies who work daily with SMEs. The results indicate that nearly six out of ten respondents believe that cloud penetration in SMEs is still low or very low, and that there is therefore a significant market to reach.
The price of services (53.4%) and fear of change/lack of knowledge (43.4%) remain SMEs' biggest objections to adopting cloud services. Mobility (56.6%) and security (38.4%) are, on the other hand, the biggest selling points SMEs see when it comes to making the leap, according to those surveyed.
Likewise, when asked "What cloud services are most in demand by SMEs?", CEOs and CTOs of IT companies agree: Infrastructure and security solutions are the services that have grown the most in terms of interest, contracting, and demand.
