Screwworm infections in humans are spreading to THESE states

The National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SNVE) reported that Cases of humans infected with the Cattle Screwworm (GBG) spread to Yucatán and Tabasco, one in each entity.
Since the first case of a human infected with GBG in Mexico, recorded on April 19, only cases had occurred in Chiapas (36 cases) and Campeche (3 cases), that is, 39 in total in just those two entities, until August 15, 2025.

And another 76-year-old man with Parkinson's disease from Centla, Tabasco, with a LGG infestation. Both have myiasis in the head and neck and are receiving outpatient treatment.
As of August 22, the SNVE (National Health Service) has recorded 41 confirmed cases of people with wounds infected with the Cattle Screwworm.

The rest of the cases have been discharged due to improvement, or are undergoing outpatient treatment.
