A river of stories. Ticinum Fest starts. Food, art and music

The official presentation of the Ticinum Fest
After the summer holidays, what's needed is to sit back in Pavia's living room and listen to the stories, both large and small, that have shaped the city for over two thousand years, perhaps while enjoying a risotto prepared by a great chef or tasting one of the wines from the fifteen Oltrepo wineries selected for the Ticinum Gourmet (every evening around 7:45–8:00 PM). From September 4th to 13th, the Broletto courtyard will host the Ticinum Festival , now in its fifth year. The first organized with the City's Department of Cultural Policies, it features twenty events over ten days. "This fifth edition falls at a particularly important time for the city," said Mayor Michele Lissia, "as the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Pavia are thriving. This year's event is therefore held in the awareness that we are still in an area rich in history, natural resources, and agri-food products, which the Festival aims to showcase."
The event will begin at 5:30 pm on Thursday with the inauguration of the exhibition "Lapalisse 31x1525," followed by a presentation of the exhibition "Pavia 1525. The Arts in the Renaissance and the Battle Tapestries" at 6:30 pm. On Friday the 5th, at 6:30 pm, there will be a meeting with the new rector of the University of Pavia, Alessandro Reali. At 9 pm, "Io mortah," by and with stand-up comedian Laura Formenti, will be performed. Saturday will be entirely dedicated to the river, with ancient works of Pavia, the new book by Silvio Negroni, and the circus show "Mi sa che tocca a noi" with the Duo Zanapia.
On Wednesday the 10th, the spotlight will be on San Michele, and on Thursday the 11th, the show "Dante's Memory" will feature the prodigious mnemonist Vanni De Luca. Finally, on Saturday the 13th, there will be a preview of Researchers' Night, with a game and presentation of the new book "Science? A Game for Girls...from Pavia!".
