With the arrival of September, winter preparations have begun in Erzincan . With the start of the harvest season, residents eager to bring their tomato paste supplies to their kitchens this winter have begun purchasing tomato paste ingredients, while those preparing for winter have flocked to the markets. Tomatoes for paste, used in tomato paste, are selling for between 25 and 30 TL per kilogram, while capia peppers are selling for 50 TL per kilogram. Market vendors noted that tomatoes for paste and capia peppers were on sale for the same price last week, and that prices won't be dropping.
Mücahit Ayan, a long-time marketer in Erzincan, said that people are currently showing great interest in tomato paste vendors. Ayan, who said that shopping has been busy as expected, said, "We're happy so far; our sales are good. People are making tomato paste, dried food, and canned food. It seems like there's a lot of people. Shopping is good, and there's no problem at the moment."
