Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality Republic Run will be the scene of great excitement

The 102nd anniversary of the Republic will be celebrated with a sporting and enthusiastic event in Gaziosmanpaşa. The Republic Run, organized for the 5th time this year by the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality, will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, with the participation of thousands of sports fans. With interest growing every year, the run has become a signature event for Gaziosmanpaşa, and this year, both national and international athletes will compete for the top spot. The run, which has a total capacity of 2,000 people, will be open to all sports fans aged 9 and over in categories appropriate to their age groups. Participants will compete in the following age categories: Seniors: 6000 meters, Juniors: 2000 meters, and Children: 1000 meters.

National athletes and international participation

Özlem Kaya Alıcı, a successful national athlete who won last year's women's event and represented Türkiye at the London and Rio Olympics, will compete again this year. In the men's event, last year's champion, Fenerbahçe and national team athlete Abdullah Tuğluk, will again be among the favorites. Numerous professional athletes from across Türkiye and abroad are expected to participate this year. Thousands of sports fans, not only from Gaziosmanpaşa but from all districts of Istanbul and other cities, will gather at this major event.

The top athletes in the competition will compete for top prizes. The overall distribution of awards in the men's and women's categories is as follows:

3rd place: 2,000 TL

Athletes from all age groups will experience great excitement in the race, where a total of 405 thousand TL in prizes will be distributed.
