Former Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, accused of corruption crimes, faces bankruptcy due to his inability to repay a 175 million ruble loan.

As lawyer Denis Baluev told TASS , the financial obligations arose after the purchase of a house in Razdory near Moscow using a 300 sq. m. Moscow apartment on Povarskaya Street as collateral.

"Timur Vadimovich's loan debt currently amounts to 175 million rubles - this is the full price of the house," Ivanov's lawyer said.

According to the case materials, Ivanov was supposed to start repaying the loan in March 2025, but was unable to fulfill his obligations due to criminal prosecution. Now the bank intends to collect the debt at the expense of the ex-official's seized property, including the collateral real estate.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of Transbaikalia was convicted of ties to a banned terrorist organization.
