Cinfães. Truck falls into ravine, leaving two seriously injured.

A heavy vehicle skidded off the road, followed by a fall into a ravine of about 100 meters, in Nespereira, Cinfães, caused two serious injuries this Friday, the commander of the local fire department told Lusa news agency.
"It was a heavy goods vehicle that skidded in the Vista Alegre area, in Tarouquela, on the way down to Nespereira, and ended up rolling about 100 meters down the ravine," Paulo Soares told Lusa news agency.
According to the commander of the Nespereira Volunteer Firefighters, in Cinfães, “the two occupants were trapped and were transported to the hospital in a serious condition, the driver being more serious”.
The driver, a 37-year-old man, and his assistant, aged 22, were “on the route to supply the butchers in Nespereira, as it was a meat transport vehicle”.
The alert was given at 09:13, according to the Tâmega e Sousa Sub-regional Command, and, on site, in the parish of Nespereira, municipality of Cinfães, district of Viseu, there were 19 operators, supported by six vehicles and one aircraft.
“Air transport was activated, but it ended up not being necessary, because we were able to reach the location via a small path,” added Paulo Soares.
