In a statement, CMTV said it "acquired the rights to a set of content related to 'Rabo de Peixe', by Rúben Pacheco Correia, which include reconstructions and interviews with those involved in the drug sinking, including the owner of the boat who was arrested in Brazil" .
These contents "were being fought over by other operators, with CMTV managing to win the race against generalist TVI", he highlights.
"CMTV is proud to be able to showcase this work. In recent days, some mainstream channels have tried to take over this product, but I am proud to announce that Ruben has chosen to work with us," said Carlos Rodrigues, editorial director of Medialivre and director of CMTV, quoted in the statement.

Notícias ao Minuto spoke with Rúben Pacheco Correia, who is launching this Thursday, May 8, the book 'Rabo de Peixe - Toda a Verdade', about the drug trafficker responsible for the cocaine that washed up on the coast of São Miguel Island, in the Azores, in 2001.
Natacha Nunes Costa | 08:35 - 08/05/2025"You're certainly aware that CMTV is the station that gives you the best guarantees in terms of quality and impact. Rabo de Peixe - A Verdadeira História will be a success, thanks to this partnership between CMTV and Rúben," the director concludes.
Meanwhile, CMTV, together with Rúben Pacheco Correia, "will produce a series of three to five original and exclusive documentaries, which should be broadcast later this year" on the Correio da Manhã group's station.
"I accepted CMTV's proposal because, more than just a financial offer, they guaranteed me the possibility of being involved in the project until its broadcast. Telling the truth about the story of the land where I was born is a guarantee I couldn't do without. And the CM universe will give the story the dimension it deserves," says Rúben Pacheco Correia, quoted in the statement.
With this agreement, Media Livre also secured the right to commercialize the series on streaming platforms.
