Braga ULS warns of fraudulent messages

The Braga Local Health Unit (ULS) today warned of fraudulent messages referring to amounts owed for services provided at the hospital, presenting an entity and reference for payment.

“It is false and fraudulent” , says the ULS, in a statement, highlighting that the SMS messages appear in the name of the National Health Service (SNS24) and “constitute a phishing scheme with the aim of obtaining undue payments” . It also says that “due diligence is being taken with the competent authorities”.

ULS Braga “does not send SMS messages with reference and entity for payment” . “Amounts due for services provided at Hospital de Braga can be paid at its facilities, in person, or via reference and entity sent through an official letter or via email, if the user requests it”, it also says.

It urges people not to respond to messages or follow any instructions contained therein, to immediately delete suspicious messages and, in case of doubt or suspicion of attempted fraud, to immediately report it to the police authorities.
