A paradise resort connected to a sandy headland. A tourist hit is coming

Many people are eagerly awaiting the results of this investment. Thanks to it, the Egyptian holiday resort of Sharm el-Sheikh will be connected with the picturesque sandy cape of Ras Hamid in Saudi Arabia . The governments of both countries have already announced the finalization of the bridge construction project.
“We have completed the planning of the bridge between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and we are ready to implement it at any time, whether in the form of a bridge or a tunnel,” Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel al-Wazir announced during an economic conference organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt .
The bridge will connect Egypt and Saudi ArabiaIt is not only about connecting two countries, but also two continents – Africa and Asia. The bridge will run through the Red Sea, famous for its very rich and diverse ecosystem. The first design plans were analyzed in 1988, but were suspended due to the political tensions in the region.
The next ideas were announced in 2016. At that time, the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz, spoke about them. He assured that his country would fully finance all the work.
After years, the plans will finally come to fruition, and work could begin at any moment. The new bridge is expected to have a positive impact on tourism, allowing over a million people to travel there each year. Of particular importance will be a more convenient and cheaper pilgrimage route to Mecca. Logistics and trade in the region are also expected to improve, among other things.
It's an expensive projectThe construction of the bridge is to cost four billion dollars. The investor is to be Saudi Arabia , and the project itself will complement the construction of the controversial megametropolis NEOM – a futuristic city being built in the northwestern part of the country, right on the Red Sea.
Until the work is completed, sea transport will continue to be needed between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This is managed by Arab Bridge Maritime Company, which operates a fleet of 13 cargo and passenger ships.
The new bridge will span the Strait of Tiran, passing through the island of Tiran – strategically located in the Strait of Tiran, at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba. The project is generating a sense of pride among both the authorities and the people of both countries. It is also planned to build a high-speed rail line that would transport goods between Africa and Asia.
