Two universities excluded from the list. We know the limits for places in medicine in 2025.

In July, the Minister of Science and Higher Education requested that the Ministry of Health grant places to universities with negative assessments by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA), namely the Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz and the Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ. The OZZL Residents' Agreement then appealed to the Ministry of Health not to accept the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's recommendation.
In the regulation published on Friday in the Journal of Laws regarding the limits of admission to medical and dental studies, the Minister of Health allocated a total of 10,504 places . This includes 6,880 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as full-time studies in Polish. 1,736 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as part-time studies in Polish. 1,888 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as full-time or part-time studies in a language other than Polish.
The Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Sącz and the Academy of Applied Sciences in Nowy Targ are not among the universities that can accept students for medical studies in the 2025/2026 academic year. These universities have not received a positive assessment from the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA).
The following universities will be able to accept students: University of Social Sciences in Łódź - 50 places, University of Siedlce - 30 places, Poznań University of Medical Sciences of Applied Sciences named after Prince Mieszko I - 40 places, which were not included in the earlier version of the draft regulation of the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health noted that these universities' programs received a positive assessment from the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) in 2025, which is valid for a shortened period of two years, and therefore they can continue enrollment. In 2024/2025, the PKA assessed these universities' programs negatively and did not open enrollment at that time.
The Ministry of Health awarded 255 more places than the initial project budget (10,249). Additional places were awarded to, among others, the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, including its branch in Bielsko-Biała, the University of Rzeszów, the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, the Academy of Social and Media Culture in Toruń - Academy of Applied Sciences, the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and the WSB University.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, 36 universities may accept students in medical fields.
The Ministry of Health regulation set the limit for the medical and dental field in the 2025/2026 academic year at 1,441 places . This includes 864 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as full-time studies in Polish, 286 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as part-time studies in Polish, and 291 places for uniform master's degree programs conducted as full-time or part-time studies in a language other than Polish.
