PLN 6,000 for the selected. ZUS informs that one condition must be met.

From January 1, 2025, individuals who turn 100 are entitled to a monthly honorary benefit of PLN 6,246.13. This amount is indexed annually in March.

According to the new law, the honorary benefit will be granted ex officio if the senior:

• has Polish citizenship,
• turned 100,
• on the last day of the month preceding the month in which he or she turns 100, he or she is entitled to e.g. a retirement or disability pension.

The entitled person will receive the decision in this matter from the relevant pension or disability pension authority: ZUS, the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund, the military pension authority, the Pension and Disability Pension Institution of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the Pension Office of the Prison Service or an organizational unit of the justice system.

At the same time, ZUS explains that if, upon reaching the age of 100, the entitled person receives more than one retirement and disability benefit, e.g. an old-age pension and a disability pension due to incapacity for work due to an occupational disease, he or she will receive only one honorary benefit.

If pension benefits are paid by two different bodies, the honorary benefit will be awarded and paid by ZUS.

If a senior citizen is not entitled to, for example, a pension or disability pension, but meets other conditions:

• has Polish citizenship,
• turned 100,
• has had a centre of vital interests in Poland for at least 10 years after reaching the age of 16,

- after submitting an application for such a benefit, ZUS will grant an honorary benefit from the month in which the application was submitted, but not earlier than from the month in which the applicant turns 100.

The application form for the honorary benefit (ESH) is available from 1 January 2025 on the ZUS website and at each branch.
