Venus Williams is the next athlete honored by Mattel. She will receive her own Barbie doll.

Venus Williams' likeness will become part of the Barbie "Inspiring Women" doll collection on Friday, August 15th. The doll, named after the decorated American tennis player, will honor her athletic legacy and serve as a reminder of her fight for equal pay for women and men in sports.
Venus Williams has won seven Grand Slam singles titles, is a double Olympic champion in Sydney, and is the Olympic doubles champion in Beijing and London . As a decorated sports star, she undoubtedly serves as a role model and inspiration, not only for those who dream of a tennis career.
Mattel recognized her athletic achievements, as well as her struggles off the court, by offering a Venus Williams Barbie doll for youngsters. This doll will be part of the "Inspiring Women" collection, created to honor exceptional women and their achievements. The collectible figurines pay tribute to women who have made significant contributions in various fields. The collection includes figures such as deaf-blind writer Helen Keller, the first African-American millionaire in the United States, Madam C.J. Walker , and naturalist Jane Goodall.
The Williams doll will depict the tennis icon dressed in white with a green gem necklace, a racket, and a tennis ball, echoing the outfit she wore when she won Wimbledon in 2007.
"The collection pays tribute to the incredible heroines of our time. Brave women who took risks, changed the rules, and paved the way for generations of girls to dream bigger than ever before. Despite facing gender discrimination throughout her tennis career, Venus Williams strove for greater success both on and off the court. She demanded equal prize money for the winners of the men's and women's tennis tournaments," the company's website states.
The Williams doll will go on sale on August 15.
