On Friday, August 15, during Polish Army Day, Warsaw residents and visitors will face significant traffic disruptions.
The largest military parade in history is upon us, taking place – as in previous years – along the Wisłostrada motorway. This year, the slogan is "Thank you for your service," which refers to all soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, both in Poland and those serving abroad. For the first time, the capital city of Warsaw is the official partner of the parade.
- said Cezary Tomczyk, Deputy Minister of National Defence, during today's press conference.
We encourage everyone to use public transportation, which is Warsaw's calling card. We are also supporting our military and spectators by providing water tankers along the parade route. We will also ensure the safety of participants.
- said Tomasz Mencina, Deputy Mayor of Warsaw.
As many as 4,000 soldiers from all formations will participate in the parade, as well as troops from allied armies, including France, the United States, Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, and Australia.
