Google is redesigning its video editor in Photos to adapt to the new Material 3 Expressive visual style, which will arrive alongside Android 16. This overhaul not only improves the aesthetics but also adds key features for more precise and easier editing on mobile.
Among the most notable new features are:
- Artificial intelligence features , such as the Magic Eraser, which allows you to remove unwanted objects or people from images.
- A clearer, wider timeline is highlighted, with a vertical slider instead of the usual circular icon.
- The video editor will now offer the ability to achieve near-perfect stabilization when editing.
- The main buttons have been modified: the "Save Copy" and "Cancel" options have disappeared and have been replaced by simple, intuitive icons.
- There will be an increased presence of horizontal bars that allow for more precise sliding and adjustment of the level of each element.
- The “Mirror” feature will be added , which allows you to flip videos from the trimming menu.
- Another notable improvement is the ability to add custom music to videos. Audio can now be added from the editor, even to a specific section of the clip.
There's no official release date yet for the new video editor in Google Photos , but updates are expected to roll out to Android devices in the coming weeks.
