ChatGPT is down worldwide: everything we know about the incident

ChatGPT , the popular artificial intelligence chatbot, was down worldwide on Wednesday. The incident caused partial outages on the platform starting early in the morning.

The problems began to be reported around 3:30 AM (Argentine time), according to the DownDetector.com site, and peaked around 8:30 AM .

The vast majority of users reported problems getting responses from the AI, which generated error messages like "Hmm... something went wrong" or "network error," which prevented normal use of the service.

OpenAI confirmed on its website that "some users are experiencing high error rates and latency across services" and said it was "investigating this issue."

So far, there has been no official explanation for the cause of the outage or a specific estimated time for when service will be restored.
