Your iPhone will last longer with iOS 26 thanks to a new secret mode that saves battery without you doing anything.

Apple is working on a new battery-saving feature in iOS 26 with the goal of extending battery life. Called 'Adaptive Power,' the Cupertino company describes it as a way for the iPhone to make small, life-saving adjustments to extend battery life.
This is the new battery saver in iOS 26.Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman reported a month ago that Apple was working on a battery-saving feature powered by Apple Intelligence that would intelligently manage each device's power consumption based on user behavior and limiting apps.
The new setting could automatically activate low-power mode , restricting background activities such as screen brightness or slowing down some activities when the battery drops to 20%, as explained by The Verge .

It's true that this can already be done in iOS's battery settings, but 'Adaptive Power' has been spotted in the latest iOS 26 developer beta. The new toggle is located next to Low Power Mode in the Battery - Power Mode section of the Settings menu in the beta version of the new operating system.
Apple plans to release the iOS 26 beta to more users next month before rolling it out to everyone in the fall. Aside from the new design, it includes new features such as updates to the Camera app, Phone app, Safari, and also Apple Intelligence updates like Live Translation for texts and calls.
