The death toll from the Iztapalapa tanker explosion has risen to 21; another woman died today.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- A 50-year-old woman died from injuries caused by the explosion of an LP gas pipeline in the Iztapalapa borough, bringing the death toll to 21, according to information from the Mexico City Public Health Secretariat.
In its 10 a.m. report this Thursday, eight days after the tragedy, it added the death of Norma Ortega Chávez, who was hospitalized at the Luis Guillermo Ibarra Ibarra National Rehabilitation Institute, located in the Tlalpan municipality.
The authority added that 27 people remain hospitalized, while 36 have already been discharged.
Yesterday, the head of government, Clara Brugada, announced that next Monday they will present the "Solidarity Committee" for the victims of the accident, with the aim of receiving and administering "with transparency" the financial donations that people wish to give to support the victims of the explosion and their families.
Meanwhile, he recalled that his administration has already begun providing "solidarity support" of 20,000 pesos to the families of those still hospitalized, and 50,000 pesos to the families of those who died.
He clarified that this aid is separate from the full damage repairs that Transportadora Silza, the owner of the tanker, will have to pay.
