Dangers of US health policies

The current U.S. administration's attacks on diversity , equity , and inclusion initiatives will have medical and scientific costs that will negatively impact disease prevention and the happiness of people far beyond its own borders.
And they reveal a total lack of knowledge and understanding of the human relationships necessary for good civilized coexistence .
These actions will reverse decades of progress toward creating a more inclusive health care workforce and improving patient care and understanding—distinct but related goals. Because we know that greater racial and ethnic diversity in the health care workforce improves health by improving communication .
Greater empathy is easily generated when, in a country with different customs and languages, a Latin American doctor, nurse, or orderly welcomes me and speaks to me in my own language; and so, with the large community of people who, from different countries, backgrounds , and customs, have immigrated to this great country.
There is concern, both inside and outside the US, about the policies this administration has adopted regarding public health and university grants, the self-censorship , and the sudden loss of funding to academic institutions. This is happening in the country that has contributed the most to innovation , technology , and scientific research .
On May 27, 2025, the U.S. Secretary of Health announced that the CDC would no longer be able to recommend COVID-19 vaccines to healthy children and pregnant women without defining what "a healthy child" means, without scientific support, and without first seeking advice from virologists , infectious disease specialists , immunologists , and other experts, thus generating more misinformation and distrust .
On June 9, 2025, the same Secretary of Health removed the 17 experts who made up the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) in his country.
An organization that is responsible for making recommendations on which vaccines are eligible for use in humans, so that the CDC can do so officially.
To whom will this administration hand over this important committee? It's easy to guess and predict that the US is becoming a threat to global public health .
