Diddy will await his sentence in prison after being convicted.

Rapper Sean Combs , known as Diddy , will await the reading of his sentence from the prison where he has been held for ten months, after avoiding life imprisonment by being convicted only of the less serious charges he faced.
Federal Judge Arun Subramanian today rejected the defense 's request to release him on $1 million bail , which was allegedly posted by him, his sister, his mother, and the mother of his eldest daughter.
Subramanian referred to the " domestic violence " inflicted by Diddy against his ex-partners, the singer Cassie Ventura and an anonymous woman who testified under the pseudonym Jane ; a violence that was precisely acknowledged during the trial by his own lawyers .
"The defense has admitted the defendant's violence in his personal relationships , claiming that it 'occurred' in his relationships with Cassie Ventura and Jane ," argued the judge, who also recalled the viral video in which Combs brutally beat Cassie in the hallway of the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles in 2016.
The arguments of one of his lawyers , Marc Agnifilo, who brought up various judicial processes in which others convicted of this same crime were granted bail , did not convince Subramanian .
In this way, Diddy will remain imprisoned in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn , a prison known for its terrible conditions and where Luigi Mangione is also being held. He is accused of murdering the CEO of UnitedHealthcare and will also be represented in his federal trial , coincidentally, by lawyer Agnifilo and his wife, Karen Agnifilo .
Cassie Ventura 's attorney, Doug Wigdor , had asked the judge in a letter to deny bail for Combs , claiming that her freedom poses "a danger to the victims who testified in the case, including herself, as well as to society ."
Combs faces up to 20 years in prison for the two charges, but prosecutors are seeking a sentence of four to five and a half years behind bars , while lawyers will request a lesser sentence , which is unclear.
The judge proposed October 3 as the date for the sentencing , but after the defense expressed its desire to hear Combs ' sentence "as soon as possible," he scheduled a virtual hearing for next Tuesday to discuss the final date.
- Today's verdict , which was also more lenient than expected, was met with cheers and applause from the crowd watching the case from an alternate courtroom and openly showing their support for Diddy .
Similarly, outside the court , supporters of the artist mingled, shouting and sometimes joyfully chanting " Freak off ! Freak off !", as well as detractors of the rapper and a crowd of influencers who have followed the case from the beginning.
