Digital driver's license: who will not be able to complete the process online?

To date , 21 jurisdictions in Argentina have fully enabled the option to renew or extend driver's licenses digitally , as part of the implementation of the National Driver's License System (SINALIC).

In addition, an additional jurisdiction has been partially incorporated. This option allows drivers to complete their procedures without having to attend an issuing center in person.

The initiative was promoted by the Ministry of Deregulation and State Transformation, headed by Federico Sturzenegger, who formalized the new process through a decree signed on March 18.

On the first day of implementation, 19 of the country's 24 provinces were incorporated into the system. In the following days, several more were added, bringing the total number of jurisdictions integrated into SINALIC to 22. However, Buenos Aires and Formosa continued to use the previous model.

This means that citizens in these provinces must continue to complete the process in person at authorized registries, following the procedures established prior to digitalization.

While the jurisdictions that are adhering to the new system are: Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Neuquén, Mendoza, Catamarca, Chaco, Salta, Jujuy, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, Chubut, Corrientes, Misiones, La Rioja, Entre Ríos, San Luis, La Pampa, Tierra del Fuego, San Juan, Santa Cruz and Río Negro.

• Go to the National Road Safety Agency website and log in with your “Mi Argentina” app username.
• Check that personal data is correct
• Select the procedure you want to complete: license renewal and/or extension . If you selected a professional license, clarify whether it is for interjurisdictional transportation.
• Pay the amounts for the selected procedure using available options.
• Select providers to conduct the necessary courses and exams, according to the license they need.
• When health exams and courses are approved, the results will be automatically uploaded by the providers themselves without the citizens having to do so.
• After completing the process, you can view the digital license in My Argentina. If you require a physical version, you can contact the License Issuing Center in the corresponding jurisdiction.
