A man disguised as a police officer shoots and wounds two Democratic congressmen in Minnesota.

MADRID (EUROPA PRESS).- Two Democratic congressmen from the state of Minnesota are seriously injured after being shot several times by an individual allegedly disguised as a police officer, according to sources close to the investigation told the US network ABC News.
The two congressmen, State Senator John Hoffman and Congresswoman Melissa Hortman, were shot several times last night at their respective homes in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, north of Minneapolis and about ten kilometers apart.
The identities of the injured were confirmed by Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, who denounced a "shocking act of violence" against these "close friends who dedicate their lives to their families and public service." Like Klobuchar, the injured belong to the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, the state affiliate of the Democratic Party.
The state's governor and former Democratic vice presidential candidate, Tim Walz, has activated the State Emergency Operations Center in what police suspect may be a "targeted" attack specifically targeting both congressmen, according to ABC sources.
The FBI is actively involved in the search for the suspect, and Walz is expected to hold a press conference shortly.
