Places in the world to lay out your mat and practice

(by Ida Bini) From Rome to New York, from Milan to Vienna, from the Maldives to Sicily, from Courmayeur to San Vigilio of Marebbe: there are many events that associations, resorts and schools organize to celebrate the International Day of Yoga, which is celebrated all over the world on June 21, during the summer solstice. Yoga is an ancient discipline of Indian origin which aims to harmonize body and mind, through a series of techniques ranging from fixed postures to those in movement, from breathing to meditation. For the occasion, here are some suggestions around the world that allows you to immerse yourself in beautiful places, to reconnect with nature and to dedicate oneself to this discipline which, if practiced regularly, it gives health, well-being, calm and mental clarity. In Rome the free appointment is in Piazza di Siena, inside Villa Borghese, from 6.30 pm with the Yogis4Nature association while at Milan Yoga Festival organizes an event, always free, at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera from 5pm. Events in New York they are in the most iconic places: Times Square is transformed into a outdoor yoga studio with free sessions all day day, while every evening until August 28th Brooklyn Flow organizes free lessons, led by some of the best teachers of the city in Prospect Park. Vienna offers many suggestive settings in which to practice yoga: from the halls of museums to the squares and along the river but among the most unique experiences there is the Vinyasa Flow lesson in the Muses room of the Museum of the Albertina, also scheduled for June 28, July 26 and August 2nd and open to all. Even in the mountains you are spoilt for choice: in Courmayeur, immersed in uncontaminated nature and surrounded by the majestic Alpine peaks, it is possible to participate in open yoga courses for each level. Practice can then be done throughout the summer: the Mont Blanc yoga school 2025 organizes lessons on July 29th, August 5th, 12th and 19th in the meadows of Maison Vieille refuge, reachable by the Dolonne cable car or by chairlift. In the months of July and August Vda Yoga offers lessons in different locations in Courmayeur, including the Maison itself Vieille, but also the historic center, the Abbé Henry Park and Auberge de La Maison. In San Vigilio di Marebbe, at the entrance to the large Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, the Excelsior Dolomites Life Resort offers a 'sun salutation' on the terrace Zen, surrounded by a breathtaking view of the Dolomites. During all summer long you can practice in a charming Mongolian yurt next to a stream, made available by the association for holistic health. Here teachers organize different workshops and courses, in addition to yogasthenics, a hybrid practice of fitness. Finally, from 28 to 31 August in the South Tyrolean location The Yoga Festival takes place in Caminata di Tures in Valle Aurina, yoga and meditation are practiced at the Olm Nature Escape, the first sustainable eco-aparthotel in South Tyrol, completely self-sufficient in terms of energy. In Switzerland, at Six Senses Crans Montana guests and local population are invited to participate in yoga sessions from 9am to 4pm free and wellness activities that support the body, the mind and spirit. Even seaside resorts participate in Yoga Day for moments of well-being and meditation. The garden overlooking the sea of the Baglio Oneto of the Princes of San Lorenzo of Marsala organizes lessons in the middle of nature, for a unique experience which continues throughout the summer. Among the proposals also yoga sup at the Stagnone Nature Reserve, awakening muscle, swimming and cycling excursions. Also in Lignano Sabbiadoro is celebrated with yoga and odaka yoga meetings, which It involves fluid and harmonious movements, inspired by movement of the ocean, The Friulian location transforms into a summer open-air temple of wellness between metabolic walks, yoga sup and forest bathing. Bornholm, Danish island 35 minutes from Copenhagen, hosts in one of its picturesque towns the Bornholm Yoga & Retreat Center, a place entirely dedicated to the care of the body and soul in direct contact with the nature. You practice yoga on the beach and learn new breathing techniques in the nearby woods and along the coast. In the Maldives, guests of Constance Halaveli and Constance Moofushi have the most qualified experts available for yoga sessions, organized at dawn and dusk. The lessons they are individual or group, with a fusion of traditions ancient and modern to let you breathe well-being, awareness postural and fitness to your body. Yoga is available also for children aged 4 to 11 at the Constance Coconut Tribe.
