San Lorenzo: Tears for Dreaming. Here are the Perseids, the stars of dreams.

It's the day of the year when everyone looks up to the sky. San Lorenzo is one of the great summer celebrations, as everyone awaits the shower of Perseids, as the August stars we hope to see to make a wish are actually called. However, experts remind us, the peak visibility is actually around August 12th and 13th. Between Emilia Romagna and Marche, there will be excellent opportunities to scan the sky and wait for the star of our dreams. We'll highlight a few, starting in Bologna, where today from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM there will be a visit to the historic Zeiss telescope in Loiano, at Via Nazionale 11, with the show "A Journey Among the Shooting Stars" (to book, visit https://www.oas.inaf.it). In the evening, the astronomers will once again be at the Ginepreto Park in the Pianoro Velodrome, with no reservations required.
When it comes to stars, you can't help but browse the calendar for Calici di Stelle (Goblets of Stars), which this evening in Fontanelice, starting at 8 pm in Piazza Roma, offers tastings and stargazing with the help of the Imola Amateur Astronomers Association. Santarcangelo also hosts Calici di Stelle (Goblets of Stars) tonight and tomorrow. In Rimini, culture takes center stage with the Tempo Malatestiano open for an evening dedicated to art and history in the Cappella dei Pianteti (Cappella of the Planets). Stars will take center stage in Saludecio, where, until the 13th, the Copernicus Observatory celebrates the Perseids with captivating observations.
In Cervia, the night of San Lorenzo is celebrated with the traditional fireworks display on the beach. In the afternoon, a band concert will take place in the historic Piazza Garibaldi. A fireworks display will also be held at Rivazzurra's beach club, Spiaggia 112. Heading to the Ravenna area, you can stop by the Sagra di San Lorenzo, a hamlet of Lugo, where the tractors will be blessed during the day, followed by a food stand opening at 7:00 PM and a concert. This evening, starting at 9:00 PM, Piazza Dora Markus in Marina di Ravenna will host a historic traditional puppet show.
There are also the evocative "Night Walks" experiences that lead you to discover this day amidst nature, spirituality, and good food. The "Aromatic Tasting Under the Stars of San Lorenzo" is this evening at 7:00 PM at the Casola Valsenio Herb Garden, with a guided tour of the garden's aromatic plants. Among the events under the stars chasing shooting stars is a starlit picnic in the magical setting of Torrechiara Castle (Parma), followed by astronomer Marco Bastoni's tales of the stars, immersed in the darkness. On Tuesday, August 12, the "rendezvous" with the unique spectacle of the "Tears of San Lorenzo" will take place at the Oasi Gregorina in Castrocaro Terme (FC), which offers "Under the Stars: the Oasis and the Magic of the Perseids" amidst the evocative colors and lights of sunset.
In the Marche region, Montecassiano (MC) is transformed into a dreamlike setting today with "The Village Among Glasses of Stars," an event combining music, art, and romance. Between strolls, aperitifs, and dinner, you can visit the magical cave with its wishing well, write down your dream, and participate in the "I Borghi più belli d'Italia" (The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy) competition. At Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo in the province of Pesaro Urbino, tomorrow, August 11th, in collaboration with Astronomitaly, the perfect evening to admire the waning moon, the planet Saturn, and the Perseid shooting stars ([email protected] or 0722 580305). In the same province, head to Saltara, home to the Museo del Balì, a science museum where you can take a stargazing journey thanks to the digital planetarium and participate in "Spiaggia delle Stelle," a guided observation with telescopes and binoculars.
