Franz Ferdinand in concert at Villa Torlonia: "We are at the height of our splendor."

Cesena, August 26, 2025 – “Despite over twenty years behind us, we are more energized than ever.” On Friday evening at Villa Torlonia in San Mauro Pascoli, the Acieloaperto festival hosts Franz Ferdinand . The Scottish band, an icon of contemporary indie rock, will present their new album The Human Fear live, a summation of their style, enriched by intimate and personal lyrics. The very last tickets available for the concert can be purchased on the Ticketone website. 'Molotovs' and Davide Amati will open the show.
Bob Hardy, bassist and founder of the band, are you ready for your tour in Italy?
"We're so excited to be back in your country. The Italian audience is one of our favorites in the world, full of passion. When we can, we like to organize an August tour in Italy; it's become a tradition."
How would you describe your latest album, 'The Human Fear'?
"It's a true Franz Ferdinand album: powerful, danceable riffs, lyrics that convey important messages, but with a clear and direct style. We try to make music that's immediate, but that rewards repeated listening with details that emerge over time."
What influences did you have during the writing process?
"Let's just say the album is a synthesis of everything we love: from electronic dance to British rock, to elements of Greek folk music, tied to the origins of our Alex Kapranos (vocals and guitarist of the group, ed.)".
What piece excites you the most during a concert?
"I'd say 'Audacious,' our first single from the album. It's the song that's surprised me the most so far. Besides our usual energy, it contains that dramatic aspect that I've always wanted to include in each of our songs."
After more than twenty years together, how has your music evolved?
"Over time, we've become better musicians, so we're able to give our audiences better shows than we did when we first started out. Plus, as a musician, I've learned that the more you progress with your skills, the more fun you have. I think the band is at its peak."
You've previously spoken out against the excessive use of technology in music. What are your thoughts on the growing popularity of AI?
"For us, making music with artificial intelligence is a huge load of bullshit. It makes absolutely no sense. AI companies use existing music to train their models, and this is a steal for us. These machines, however, will never have the ability to replicate the experience and feelings of us humans."
So, will you continue to rock around the world the old-fashioned way?
"Exactly, we keep going thanks to the energy of our fans around the world. Every concert gives us the energy to keep going and not give up."
