Amalfi, awaiting the Byzantine New Year, a week of events to dream, fall in love, and dance under the stars.

Amalfi, awaiting the Byzantine New Year, a week of events to dream, fall in love, and dance under the stars.

Amalfi's summer continues to ignite with great live music. Following the success of the Ferragosto festival, held for the first time in the new town square of Piazza Municipio, another week of major events sponsored by the Municipality of Amalfi is upon us, leading the public toward the Byzantine New Year celebrations, which bring to life the glorious history of the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalfi. "We are preparing to relive the glories of Amalfi's history, queen of the seas in medieval times. Anticipation is already high for one of the events most deeply rooted in our cultural identity, the Byzantine New Year," emphasizes Mayor Daniele Milano. "In the meantime, however, major events continue, including a tribute to two great exponents of the Neapolitan classical repertoire, Maestro Roberto De Simone and poet Salvatore Di Giacomo. This concert represents a special tribute from the city of Amalfi to Maestro De Simone, former Magister of Amalfi Civilization, recognizing his invaluable contribution to the promotion of the region's culture and traditions."

An explosive mix of music, theater, and television on Friday, August 22nd at 9:30 pm in Piazza Municipio with the Gemelli di Guidonia with “The Concert, the Show, the Variety.” After shining on programs like Edicola Fiore, Tale e Quale Show, and L'AltroFestival, the Gemelli di Guidonia are ready to unleash the energy of their live show. An unforgettable concert, packed with hits that will have everyone singing and dancing. Experience a unique evening with their unmistakable 33 rpm of fun. "A tribute to the creativity of great musicians who have become icons in the history of music, but also to the pure, explosive energy of music to dance and sing along to in the square," says Enza Cobalto, Councilor for Events and Culture. "Amalfi Summer Fest is giving us unique emotions, allowing us to rediscover the beauty of being together, of gathering, with squares packed at every event. At the same time, the children's program is also developing, with events designed to stimulate their imagination and allow them to reclaim dreams and wonder while, at the same time, learning through play. As always, admission is free, like all Amalfi summer events."

The venue changes on Tuesday, August 26, at 9:00 PM. The Arsenale della Repubblica will be the evocative setting for the "Concert – Homage to Roberto De Simone – Di Giacomo in the Mood." The concert pays homage to the melodies and verses of Salvatore Di Giacomo and other composers who created a sound world rich in emotion and contrast. Thanks to the expert rewriting of Roberto De Simone, a renowned scholar and interpreter of Neapolitan culture, the evening offers a unique journey that combines the refined elegance of Costa's orchestrations—also inspired by Puccini and Debussy—with De Leva's more lively and popular atmospheres. A unique opportunity to discover and rediscover the cultural legacy of a great Neapolitan composer, brought to life and contemporary by a passionate and informed interpretation. With Raffaello Converso and arrangements and orchestrations by Roberto De Simone. Conductor: Luigi Grima. On Wednesday, August 27th, at 10:00 PM, dancing under the stars returns to the charming new Piazza Municipio with Jovaband – Il Tributo a Jovanotti. An exhilarating evening, bringing all of Jovanotti's energy and enthusiasm to the stage. An authentic and engaging tribute to one of Italy's most beloved artists, capable of making people dance, feel emotions, and reflect with a unique style. Featuring pop, funk, rap, and summer vibes, the show is designed to entertain the audience, transforming Amalfi into a moonlit dance floor.
