The magic of sunset, the late summer evening breeze, and a unique natural and historical heritage. These are the ingredients of the two special evenings organized by the Besano Fossil Museum (pictured), Tuesday, September 2nd and 9th, starting at 5:00 pm. The initiative, curated by Archeologistics , the social enterprise that manages the museum on behalf of the Municipality, offers an experience that combines nature, culture, and landscape.
The tour begins in the Museum's rooms, which house fossils from Monte San Giorgio , a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, visitors will be guided through the discovery of the creatures that populated the great tropical basin 240 million years ago. The group will then move outdoors for a walk to Colle San Martino . From its summit, views of Lake Ceresio open up, and it will also be possible to visit the small church of Santa Maria Nascente.
Return is scheduled for 6:30 pm, but the evening continues with a stroll along the Porto Ceresio lakeside. The cost is €7 per person, which includes museum admission and a guided tour. Ch.S.
