Between land and sea: the port of Vitrezay, a magical stopover on the Gironde estuary

Located on the "Canal des Deux-Mers à Vélo" cycle route, the port is a must-see for lovers of cycling in a peaceful, open-air setting. Bike rentals are available on site to explore the 16 kilometers of marked trails. Many other events and activities dedicated to observing flora and fauna are regularly scheduled: fishing, marsh discovery outings, horse-drawn carriage rides, and cruises on the Gironde estuary from late April to late October.
This site is also a crossing point for migratory birds. Many species stop over or nest here. Such as the star of these marshes, the stork, whose flight and sound are instantly recognizable. Many birdwatching excursions are naturally offered in this setting, protected from many nuisances.
Also not to be missed are the cruises on the estuary. From the classic 75-minute L'Estuaire au fil de l'eau (The Estuary along the Water) to the very comprehensive Ecosystems and Biological Riches of the Estuary (2 hours non-stop) and the delicious tasting cruise with food and drink pairing (3 hours non-stop), there is something for everyone. On board the ship "Le Saintongeais" , everyone can satisfy their intellectual and physical needs!
