Health: calls for mobilization for a tense return to school

And the widespread concern that is filtering through private doctors, in hospitals—starting with those of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), where general meetings are planned for the coming days—in biology laboratories, radiology centers, and more.
The warnings vary from one sector to another, but they all come together in the rejection of the savings measures that the government intends to implement on social spending in 2026.
On Tuesday, July 15, Prime Minister François Bayrou unveiled his guidelines for restoring public finances, and estimated the efforts required from the healthcare sector at €5.5 billion – out of the €43.8 billion in savings sought for the 2026 budget. While Mr. Bayrou did not return to this quantified objective during his press conference on Monday, August 25, the levers and avenues for savings outlined previously fueled the fears of professionals and patients alike.
