Taylor Swift announces the release of her twelfth album for October 3rd

Good news for Taylor Swift fans. After surprisingly announcing the upcoming release of a new album on Tuesday , the American pop star has revealed the date and cover art for her twelfth album. It will be released on October 3, she revealed Wednesday on her website and social media.
"The Life of a Showgirl" will feature 12 tracks, including a duet with Sabrina Carpenter, whose global hit "Espresso" also propelled her to pop superstardom. Taylor Swift sent ripples through the internet on Tuesday when she announced the release of a new album available for pre-order.
"This is the album I've wanted to make for a very long time," the 35-year-old singer confided in the podcast New Heights, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce , an American football player, as well as his brother, Jason Kelce.
“Every song on this album had to be there for a thousand reasons, and you couldn’t take one song out or add one song without it changing the whole album,” she said. “That kind of discipline in making an album, holding the bar really high, is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.”
On Wednesday, the former country singer turned global star also revealed the cover of "The Life of a Showgirl," which shows her in a rhinestone gown in a bathtub with only part of her face emerging from the water. It's the same blend of glamour and melancholy that has won over her fans around the world, the famous "swifties."
Taylor Swift's eleventh and previous album, "The Tortured Poets Department," sold 1.4 million copies on its first day of release, April 19, 2024.
Topping the list of most-streamed artists in 2024 according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the singer of "Anti-Hero," "Shake It Off," and "Blank Space" could once again shatter music industry records.
