Canneseries crowns Norwegian series "A Better Man"

"A Better Man" follows Tom, a bitter Norwegian with misogynistic tendencies who anonymously attacks women online at night. When his identity is revealed by hackers, the "troll" goes into hiding by dressing... as a woman.
The Best Actor Award was also presented to Anders Baasmo, the lead actor in the series, who also won the High School Students' Award.
Another Norwegian production combining family drama and comedy, "Nepobaby" was awarded for its screenplay and its entire cast, which won the Special Performance Award.
For this 8th edition, the jury was chaired by American composer Jeff Russo - in the absence of actor Norman Reedus (Daryl in "The Walking Dead"), who was initially supposed to take on this role -, accompanied in particular by French and Spanish actresses Louise Bourgoin and Lola Duenas.
Norway also shone in the documentary series competition with the prize awarded to "The Agent - The Life and Lies of My Father," an investigation into a father who told his 10-year-old son that he was a secret agent.
In the short series category, the jury, chaired by Dutch actress and screenwriter Marnie Blok, voted for "Oh, Otto!", a look into Brussels' queer community.
After six days of screenings and meetings, the Croisette is set to wrap up its pink carpet, which was walked on Tuesday by the cast of a new series adaptation of "The Count of Monte Cristo," co-produced by France Télévisions and Rai. It's before welcoming the Cannes Film Festival and the stars of the 7th art in two weeks.
