The situation escalated on the plane. A passenger attacked an Ibom Air flight attendant. The flight attendant had previously asked her to turn off her cell phone so the plane could take off.
Because the pilot refused to take off, the plane was initially aborted. According to an airline press release, another passenger eventually took the woman's phone and turned it off, allowing the plane to take off.
Upon landing in Lagos, the woman attacked the flight attendant. Security had to intervene and drag the aggressive woman off the plane. A video taken by a bystander shows her T-shirt ripping and her breasts briefly exposed.
The Nigerian Bar Association has already expressed its full support for the woman in the case, condemning the way the passenger was treated in the cabin and on the tarmac.
