Eurowings introduces premium BIS seat for medium-haul flights

Eurowings will introduce a new business class seat designed for its longer medium-haul routes.
The new premium BIZ seat from Italian manufacturer Geven will complement the airline's existing BIZclass option, which offers only extra legroom and leaves the middle seat empty. The seat will be available from November and bookable from August. It will debut on a Eurowings A320neo and features eight seats in a 2-2 layout.
It will initially be offered on flights between Berlin and Dubai, with Eurowings stating that a “comprehensive expansion of the product and service portfolio” is planned.
Eurowings has not yet released the full specifications of the new seat, except that it features “adjustable backrests, ergonomic design and generous padding.”
The airline flies to Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports and competes with Condor between Berlin Brandenburg and Dubai International.
Emirates does not fly to Berlin, but Qatar Airways operates the Berlin-Doha route and will increase frequencies to three flights per day from July.
Eurowings added that the market testing, starting with the 2025/26 winter schedule, will provide the other Lufthansa Group airlines with "important insights for the future configuration of their new aircraft fleets." Earlier this year, the group announced that Eurowings, the current all-Airbus operator, would take delivery of a total of 40 Boeing 737-8 MAXs starting in 2027.
By then, cabin design and comfort will have been fundamentally redefined," says management: "Customers can look forward to further innovative offerings throughout the year that will significantly improve the travel experience for all passengers on short and medium-haul routes – not just for BIZclass passengers."
Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings, commented on the news: "With our new Premium BIZ seat, we offer business travelers and holidaymakers on medium-haul flights a completely new level of comfort. More privacy and a significantly improved feel-good atmosphere make longer flights noticeably more pleasant. "With this, we are setting a new standard in our market segment and clearly positioning Eurowings as Europe's leading value airline."
