Somehow this man is doing us good right now. The actor Merlin Sandmeyer doesn't have the appearance of a hero – but there are enough strongmen in the world anyway. Sandmeyer is small, pale, different, he dares to appear very quiet, almost meek. He became known as the hopelessly overwhelmed security guard Jonas in the series The Discounters (only his second major film work), who constantly cuts a completely pathetic figure. And the actor Sandmeyer doesn't want to appear confident at all costs – when he sits as a slightly perplexed guest on talk shows, he always seems a bit fragile. As the boss of the discount store once said about Jonas : like a little bird that has fallen out of the nest. Appropriately, Sandmeyer recently said in an interview how unsettled he is now constantly recognized on the street.
