Europe's Space-Tech Leader: It's not about moon trips, but about national security

Donald Trump's reelection as US president has changed not only the world, but also space. Before November 2024 , space tech in Europe was primarily a glamorous form of logistics. Like FedEx for space: It was always about getting something from A (Earth) to B (space).

But since the transatlantic bond no longer seems so strong, European space technology has become part of a different segment: Space tech is security. National security.

This message was made clear at the Space Tech panel at the Munich Disruptive Technology Symposium on Wednesday, hosted by Goldman Sachs.
