11 million euros on top: Defense startup Arx Robotics expands Series A

The Bavarian startup specializes in the development of autonomous, unmanned ground vehicles. Arx has now expanded its Series A to €42 million.
The Munich-based defense tech startup Arx Robotics has expanded its Series A financing round, as the company announced on Tuesday morning. Arx is raising an additional €11 million. The lead investor for the extension is Speedinvest, and HV Capital is also participating again. This brings the total volume of the Series A to €42 million.
In April, Arx Robotics closed a €31 million round led by HV Capital , with participation from Omnes Capital and existing investors Nato Innovation Fund and Project A.
With the fresh capital, the company intends to further expand its software-centric platform for unmanned ground systems (UGVs) and advance series production. A particular focus is on establishing additional plants and strategic partnerships across Europe.
The company also plans to further expand its team – particularly with experts in artificial intelligence, software architecture and systems integration, as well as experienced executives from the European automotive industry.

The startup, based near Munich, specializes in the development of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles, so-called UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles).
Arx Robotics' flagship product is the "Gereon" platform, a UGV designed for a variety of applications. The robot navigates on tracks or wheels through a wide range of terrain, even difficult ones, and can perform a variety of tasks, such as material transport or casualty rescue.
It is also used as a sensor and drone carrier and as a targeting robot, i.e. in the training of soldiers.
Arx Robotics was founded in 2021 under the original name Arx Landsysteme by three former German Armed Forces officers, including Marc Wietfeld, who leads the startup as CEO. The company changed its name to Arx Robotics in 2024 to more clearly define its mission and products.
Arx recently announced strategic partnerships with Daimler and Renk, designed to accelerate digital transformation and international expansion. Six European armed forces, including those in Ukraine, are already deploying the systems.
