Akasa Air Makes Southeast Asia Debut With New Phuket Service

Budget airline Akasa Air has announced another international destination - Phuket in Thailand. This marks the carrier’s sixth destination outside India. It is also Akasa’s first flight into Southeast Asia. At present, Akasa’s international network includes five other destinations, all located in the Middle East: Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait City.
The airline operated its inaugural flight to Phuket from Mumbai on Saturday. It is now operating daily flights between Mumbai and Phuket. Akasa has also announced its plans to add daily direct flights to Phuket from Bengaluru starting next month.
“The launch marks Akasa Air’s foray into Southeast Asia, a region that will remain central to the airline’s international growth strategy in the years ahead,” it said in a statement.
