Taylor Swift’s Engagement Ring Is the Perfect Anti-Trend Piece

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged and you have to see the ring! After much speculation, the couple finally hard-launched the big news on Instagram with a series of photos together in a flowery garden. He wore a dark knit polo top and khaki shorts, while she wore a striped silk Ralph Lauren dress (that just so happens to be on sale now) and brown sandals to match. While the scene was totally picturesque, we couldn’t help but find ourselves laser-focused on her massive engagement ring.
For Swift, Kelce went all out on the ring. Perhaps reflecting their all-American love story between a quarterback and popstar, Kelce went with a more traditional style of ring with an almost antique, rustic vibe. He picked a large oval ring set upon a thick band with four prongs. Upon a closer look, it seems the golden band is also embedded with more tiny diamonds, adding a unique element to the dazzling ring. It also matched her diamond-encrusted watch perfectly. The rectangular face and linked watch band are classic styles, adding to the timeless look of the ring, outfit and photos.
As of late, engagement ring trends have fluctuated, especially with stars opting for more unique styles. Zendaya kicked off the year by subtly debuting her engagement ring on the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet. Matching her style, Tom Holland picked out a unique east-west ring, though that similarly showcased a large oval diamond. Callum Turner and Dua Lipa similarly announced their engagement in British Vogue early this year. That ring featured an embedded circular diamond. And in the fictional world, Belly Conklin accepted an ultra-delicate engagement ring from Jeremiah Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty. So, it’s safe to say that it seems as though 2025 is the year of engagement ring anti-trends, especially with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s stamps of approval.
