Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard is ringing in a new era with a major hair transformation. The star graced the orange carpet at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, where he is a presenter, debuting a freshly shaved head.
Wolfhard rocked his new hairstyle while walking alongside fellow Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo. Since stepping into the scene with the premiere of Netflix's hit show back in 2016, we've seen Wolfhard consistently wearing his hair on the longer side, embracing his loose waves both on the show and otherwise.
The newly debuted buzz cut marks Finn Wolfhard's biggest transformation to date. (Because truly, the only Stranger Things actor we had seen with a fresh buzzcut head was Millie Bobby Brown, and only in the early Eleven days, because she did not shave it back for Stranger Things season 4.)

To pair the beauty statement, Wolfhard rocked an equally eye-catching suit featuring a textured blazer and printed pants with an exposed pocket detail.

Wolfhard and Matarazzo were announced as 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards presenters earlier this year. The duo flew to Tokyo, Japan, for the occasion to present with the Best Continuing Series award. to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc. Anime shows like DAN DA DAN, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Kaiju No. 8, and more were up for Anime of the Year. The coveted prize ended up going to Solo Leveling.
The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are taking place in Tokyo for the third time on May 25, 2025, ahead of the long-awaited Stranger Things season 5 premiere. “What’s going to be so awesome about season five is that the Duffers are sort of trying to thread this needle of trying to get every character to have their perfect ending,” Wolfhard teased back in 2023. "So I’m excited to see what ends up happening.”
