Lachlan Rofe dead: Married at First Sight star dies aged 47 as tributes flood in

Married at First Sight's Lachlan Rofe has died aged 47. The TV star appeared on the reality programme in Australia in 2015 before he featured on Farmer Wants a Wife the following year. His family confirmed his death on social media this week. His cause of death has not been announced. Lachlan was paired with Clare Tamas during the first-ever season of Married at First Sight in Australia, before he experienced high-profile romances with Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Belinda Reid. Despite looking like a happy couple, it was revealed that less than 24 hours after the finale aired, the pair had gone their separate ways.
In 2017, Lachlan was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend, Casey Williams. At the time, he was put on a 12-month good behaviour bond, and he appealed the conviction. A magistrate later overturned the guilty verdict.
Lachlan told Channel 7 news at the time: "I'm too scared to even go see women 'cos I just feel with everything that's happened, I just feel like I'm a target."
On Married at First Sight, Lachlan garnered a large female following during his time on the show. He parted ways with his MAFS wife Clare 12 months after filming wrapped up.
He said in an interview at the time: "While ever it was good, while there was good times there was also some times that weren't good."
He added: "I'm still in contact with Clare, we're still friends, we caught up a couple of weeks ago. I think it is hard when you do form a bond with someone as well to maintain a very close friendship."
