Scandinavian interest in Alanya is on the rise again ahead of the 2025 tourism season. Tourism executive Cengiz Topçu explained that Scandinavian tourists, who previously preferred Marmaris , are now turning their route to Alanya this year.
Commenting on the growth observed in the Scandinavian market, one of Alanya 's most important source markets, Topçu said, "We see an increase of between 9 and 12 percent, depending on the country, until the end of September 2025. Topçu emphasized that Scandinavian guests began choosing Alanya after operations to the Marmaris region ceased. He also predicted that this upward trend would continue, albeit slowly, until 2026.
Gazipaşa Airport requestTopçu stated that one of the biggest expectations of Scandinavian tourists is the more efficient use of Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, adding, "Encouraging the leading tour operators and airlines in this market is of great importance for regional tourism."
Topçu stated that sustainable tourism in Scandinavian countries is no longer a trend but a way of life, and that work in this field should be increased in Alanya.
“Sea cleaning should be a priority”Topçu also noted that the issue of sea cleanliness was prominent in tourists' feedback, saying, "Public and local governments need to quickly implement measures regarding treatment facilities."
