Warning: Update urgently! All Windows users will be affected

A serious security vulnerability has been discovered in WinRAR, one of the world's most widely used archive programs. This vulnerability, which affects Windows users, allows malware to be placed on computers. Experts emphasize that users should update the software to WinRAR version 7.12 to protect their systems.
The vulnerability was discovered by a researcher working with Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative team. The vulnerability, identified as CVE-2025-6218, is caused by an error in WinRAR's processing of file paths within archives.
According to the vulnerability, specially prepared archive files can be written to different folders in the file system without permission. These folders include system directories that are automatically run when the computer starts up. This can cause malicious software to be activated as soon as the computer is started.
WinRAR developer RARLAB has released WinRAR version 7.12 to fix the vulnerability. It was stated that the update only covers Windows versions, Unix and Android users are not affected by this vulnerability.
The new version also fixes the previously detected issue of simple HTML injection in HTML reports. Experts warn that Windows users in particular should update as soon as possible.
