Release application for Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ

The ECHR has issued another violation ruling for former HDP Co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who was detained and arrested from his home in Diyarbakır on November 4, 2016, and against whom the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) issued two violation rulings and the Constitutional Court (AYM) issued one violation ruling, requesting his release.
Lawyers took action
According to a report by Ferit Aslan of Medyascope, lawyers have mobilized for Demirtaş's release and subsequent acquittal. They will apply for the release of Selahattin Demirtaş, Figen Yüksekdağ, and all other detainees in the Kobani trial.
The lawyers will first apply to the court that issued the verdict on Friday, July 11, requesting their release. They will then apply to the Court of Appeals seeking acquittal, in accordance with the ECHR ruling that also invalidated the evidence on which the conviction was based.
SAME DAY WITH THE PKK'S DISARMING CEREMONY
On the other hand, it was noteworthy that the lawyers of Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ submitted their applications for release on the same day that the PKK was to hold a symbolic arms laying down ceremony in Sulaymaniyah.
