Google will increase the security of the Messages app

A new feature is being introduced to provide a more secure app experience. Google is updating Messages with end-to-end encryption authentication. This means that authentication, previously requiring long digits, will now be done via QR codes.
When you enter the Google Messages app and chat with someone, you will be taken to the contact details section, where the person can show their own QR code or scan the other person's code.
This will enable mutual authentication in conversations. The new method is initially available to beta users.
On the other hand, the new verification feature will be available on devices that support Android 9 and later versions.
