Ekrem İmamoğlu's lawyer Nusret Yılmaz's statement to the prosecutor's office has been released.

Nusret Yılmaz, the lawyer of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his wife, Dr. Dilek İmamoğlu, whose university degree was revoked on March 18th and arrested the following day, was detained in his hometown of Trabzon as part of an investigation into the IMM. Yılmaz, a childhood friend of Ekrem İmamoğlu, was charged with "mediation of bribery." Brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan as a pre-trial detention, Yılmaz was referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for judicial control measures, including a signature ban and a travel ban. The judge ruled that Yılmaz be released on the requested judicial control measures, including a signature ban and a travel ban. The case was also returned to the prosecutor's office.
"I ABSOLUTELY REJECT ANY ACCUSATIONS MADE AGAINST ME"
It was learned that Yılmaz was questioned at the prosecutor's office about the allegations made by businessman Emrullah Turanlı and Yakup Öner, who benefited from effective repentance provisions, and that Yılmaz denied the accusations. Yılmaz reportedly said the following:
I have been a practicing lawyer for approximately 32 years, including my time as a judge. To this day, I have been careful not to engage in any actions that would bring disgrace. I have approached every issue with the sensitivity of a lawyer, with a sense of justice, law, and integrity. I believe that access to all documents and information related to my personal and family matters is possible. I have never made any unjust gains in my life. In light of the questions you have posed to me, I believe that my statements should be taken as a witness, not as a suspect. I categorically deny any accusations against me.
