Birce Akalay was detained as part of a drug operation targeting celebrities in Istanbul on October 8, 2025, and then released. Following her release, Akalay thanked those who supported her in a statement on her social media account, and her test results came back positive.
According to Müge Dağıstanlı's post, an interview Birce Akalay gave an hour before the results has surfaced. The actress's distressed demeanor was caught on camera. This is the first time she has made a statement.
